Waarom dit onderzoek?

Twee meisjes mediaSocial media zijn niet meer weg te denken uit het leven van jongeren. Velen zitten meerdere keren per dag op bijvoorbeeld Snapchat, Instagram en WhatsApp. Zich verbonden voelen met vrienden, lachen om grappige berichten of delen van gevoelens zijn redenen voor jongeren om social media te gebruiken. Maar we weten ook dat dat niet altijd een fijne ervaring hoeft te zijn. Soms voelen jongeren zich buitengesloten of twijfelen aan zichzelf door alle mooie plaatjes die ze op social media zien. Waarom en wanneer voelen jongeren zich soms goed en soms slecht door social media? Die vraag staat centraal in ons onderzoek.
